The Word Alive's '2012' Inspired by 'Law Abiding Citizen' -- Video Premiere

The Word Alive have enjoyed a very active 12 months. During that time, the Phoenix, Arizona metalcore sextet have released their debut album 'Deceiver' and embarked on a string of successful tours that have helped them become one of the scene's most promising outfits. With 'Deceiver' still finding new listeners and the band's stock rising, 2011 should prove to be a hallmark year for the band.
Noisecreep is proud to present the video premiere for The Word Alive's latest single, '2012.' Directed by Kevin McVey (Between the Buried and Me, Aiden), the clip feels more like a short film than a rock video.
"When we wrote '2012' I knew right away that I wanted the song to be very intense. I wanted it to be something that was straight-forward, something where anyone could get a pretty clear meaning of what it's about," explained vocalist Tyler "Telle" Smith. "I had watched the movie 'Law Abiding Citizen' right before I wrote '2012' and it was fresh in my mind. I wanted to put into words the way that movie made me feel, from the main character's point of view."
