Capsule Like to 'P.C.P.' on 'Outline' -- Song Premiere
Solid PR
Capsule, who have been kicking around since 2004, practically reek of cred, having released music via Robotic Empire, a label that traffics heavily in underground splits and 7" releases. Noisecreep is proud to premiere 'Outline,' a track from Capsule's new album 'No Ghost,' out April 12th on Rorschach Records. 'Outline' is semi-sludgy yet fully brutal in a Mastodon-ian sort of way.
"We recorded the album at our guitar players studio, and at The Dungeon in Miami," Capsule's Eric Hernandez recently told Noisecreep. "So we would be drinking and watching [each other] pretty much the whole time. At the start of 2011, one day [guitarist] Ryan woke up and discovered we had actually recorded a [whole] record last year. But seriously, it was just a matter of finding a label [that] would release it, which is where Rorschach Records came in."
Hernandez said the band's formula for keeping the volume up and the speed steady without getting exhausted is simple. "Three words we live by: P.C.P. -- Play Crazily Precise," he said.
Going off on a decidedly NSFW tangent, Hernandez also shared a story about the inspiration behind the song 'Kayso' on 'No Ghost.'
"It was an intense track where the music was done and all that was missing were the lyrics," he said. "We went to get some late night pizza to reflect on where the song should go lyrically, when a strange young man walked into the pizza parlor with a stuffed bra, deep-throating a double-sided pink dildo. He then proceeded to buy a whole pie for everyone in the pizza shop -- about 40 pizzas -- and walked out. The song pretty much wrote itself after that. Ironically enough, the stranger had a fresh tattoo with the word 'Inspired' across the back of his neck. This is totally true."
