Slipknot / Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor has been tapped to deliver a guest speech at Britain's prestigious Oxford University later this year.
The 37 year old vocalist said he was shocked when officials at the school approached him. "I've been asked to speak at Oxford University, which is very ironic seeing as I didn't graduate from high school. They took a vote about who they would want to speak at their student union and I was the number one pick, apparently, so I was like, 'Yeah, OK, let's do this.' I'm probably going to swear and sweat a lot," said Taylor.
Taylor was recently in the news when it was widely reported that supergroup Velvet Revolver would be hiring him to front their group. The rumors were put to rest when VR guitarist Slash remarked that Taylor "didn't fit right," after jamming with him. "We got together and we jammed some stuff and I guess it just wasn't working for him", said Taylor. "He's Slash and he's entitled to have that, and I'm not gonna argue with him," said Taylor afterwards.
In early September, 2010, Taylor announced that his book, 'Seven Deadly Sins,' is going to be released on July 12, 2011 through Da Capo Press.
