The Word Alive Get Upbeat and Dancy on 'The Wretched' Remix -- Exclusive
Jeremy Saffer
The Word Alive are releasing the deluxe edition of their album 'Deceiver' on June 6th. Noisecreep is pleased to have the exclusive premiere the KC Blitz remix of 'The Wretched.'
Vocalist Tyler "Telle" Smith recently told Noisecreep that the remix "is very different from our actual style of music, and is probably the most upbeat of the remixes. Hopefully our fans dig it!" The band elected to do a remix for a simple reason: they wanted to do something new and fun to keep themselves creatively stimulated. Smith said, "I don't think anyone really saw this coming from us, but we actually like a lot of dancy-type songs and so we thought it was a good idea. I guess we'll find out!"
Remixer KC Blitz previously worked with UK wildmen Bring Me the Horizon , which was how he got the gig remixing 'The Wretched.' "We honestly hadn't had any previous knowledge on who would be good for this sort of thing," Smith explained. "KC Blitz came recommended to us by our label who had worked with him before; he's remixed for Bring Me the Horizon which is awesome. We're stoked it came out great!"
The Word Alive will spend their summer on the Warped Tour, and Smith says that the Phoenix-based band plans on a high-energy show. "We plan on putting on the most high-energy set you can catch on Warped this summer," he said. "We're gonna play all of our songs that we know will get the crowds moving. Come to a show and find out."
