Sixx: A.M. Hit No. 1 With 'Lies of the Beautiful People'

Being a beautiful liar has its benefits and privileges, as Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx and his other band Sixx: A.M. well know. The group just cruised into the No. 1 slot on the Active Rock radio charts this week. It's the band's first numero uno, so Noisecreep offers them a big congrats on this impressive feat. The song is the first single from the band's second album, 'This is Gonna Hurt,' and it was firmly lodged into the No. 2 slot for six weeks before bulldozing its way into the top slot.
In a statement, frontman James Michael said, "A number one single is a great accomplishment for me, DJ and Nikki. Outside radio, using other media sources has helped us reach even more people and it's amazing that the fans have reacted so strongly to the song and its message. We are flattered and honored."
The band enjoyed radio success with their debut, 'The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack,' which birthed the hit 'Life is Beautiful, which was the most played rock song of 2008. Even though the track enjoyed lots of airplay, it wasn't a #1.
