Black Tusk Demolish Speakers on 'Crossroads and Thunder' -- Premiere
Geoff Johnson
The Savannah, Ga. battering ram known as Black Tusk is set to demolish speakers once again with 'Set the Dial,' their forthcoming fourth studio album. Produced by Jack Endino (Soundgarden, Skeletonwitch), the record's 10 tracks deliver more of the densely layered heavy metal we've come to expect from the power-trio.
Black Tusk worship at the altar of the almighty guitar riff and 'Set the Dial' features some of their tastiest yet. Andrew Fidler rises to the occasion proving that he's one of the more overlooked guitarists in the metal world today. He's certainly not a solo shredder, but if you're looking for fat and hooky riffs, Fidler is your man.
'Set the Dial' won't be out till late October, but Noisecreep couldn't wait to share one of our favorite songs off the album. So instead of us trying to find more ways to tell you how hard the new Black Tusk material rules, we'll let their music do the talking. Here is the world premiere of 'Crossroads and Thunder.'
Black Tusk recently announced an Eastern US headlining tour in support of 'Set the Dial.' The tour starts Nov. 2nd in Charlotte, and runs through mid-November, and includes a stop as part of the Metal Suckfest. Support on this run comes from Thou and MonstrO on select dates.
Additionally, Black Tusk has confirmed a string of regional record release shows. Among them Savannah and Atlanta stops as well as two Texas dates supporting Mastodon. A listing of additional regional Georgia tour dates can be found below with more dates to be announced soon.
