Van Halen has just confirmed that they'll be touring in 2012.
The legendary hard rockers revealed the news this morning via a video on their official site. It will be the first time Van Halen has toured together in five years. Although the exact dates have yet to be announced, the first batch of shows will go on sale on Jan. 10.
The footage featured in the tour's video teaser (seen below) was shot at The Roxy Theatre in Hollywood, Calif. last month. Van Halen currently features David Lee Roth (vocals), brothers Eddie (guitars) and Alex Van Halen (drums), along with Eddie's 20-year-old son Wolfgang Van Halen on bass.
Van Halen recently inked a deal with Interscope Records and will issue their 12th studio album with the label in 2012. No firm release date has been confirmed yet. It will be Roth's first album with the Southern California rockers since their landmark '1984' collection.
