A Sound of Thunder Draw on Sabbath for Inspiration on 'The Day I Die'

After getting tired of just playing other people's songs in a cover band, guitarist Josh Schwartz and drummer Chris Haren formed A Sound of Thunder. After over a year of numerous line-up changes and false starts, in late 2009 the band was joined by Nina Osegueda, vocalist and co-founder of metal band Blood Corps.

After releasing a self-titled EP and recording West Memphis Three charity single 'Justice At Last,' the band unleashed their debut album, 2011's 'Metal Renaissance,' to positive reviews. Never content to rest, A Sound of Thunder immediately began recording their second album, 'Out of the Darkness,' with producer Kevin "131" Gutierrez (Shinedown, Deceased) in May of last year.

"'The Day I Die' is a favorite of the whole band and really draws on our more Sabbath-y, classic metal influences. We like it fast and furious, but this song shows off our darker and more introspective side. It tells the tale of a scorned lover who takes the ultimate way out and tries to make contact from the other side," A Sound of Thunder guitarist/keyboardist Josh Schwartz told Noisecreep about the blistering track.

A Sound of Thunder will be releasing 'Out of the Darkness' on March 27 via Nightmare Records.
