Ted Nugent Removed From Summer Concert After Obama Comments

According to Wave3, Nugent was set to perform alongside REO Speedwagon and Styx. But Uncle Ted is no longer on the bill, thanks to what he said at an NRA (National Rifle Association) meeting in St. Louis on April 14. When referencing the Obama administration and the imminent election, Uncle Ted said, "We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November."
But that's not all. He also predicted that he would be "dead or in jail by this time next year" if Barry O. gets re-elected. While the Nuge said he was speaking metaphorically, the Secret Service isn't taking it lightly. They are said to be investigating his statements.
Uncle Ted insists that it was not a threat against the president, although it was perceived as such. He told Glenn Beck that "by no stretch of the imagination did I threaten anyone's life, or hint at violence or mayhem. Metaphors needn't be explained to educated people." While we understand that he was speaking figuratively, saying such things at a gun conference isn't, well, smart.
So some inflammatory and ill-advised comments have gotten the Nuge booted from a summer gig and put the Secret Service on his ass. Nice going, Ted!
