One lucky Hornitos fan was able to participate in the making of the Mariachi Mash Up video. Norma Hartwell, of Weymouth, Mass., won the Hornitos Facebook sweepstakes and grabbed her maracas and flew to New York to rock out with Twisted Sister and real mariachis. The music video and downloadable audio file are available on Hornitos' Facebook page starting May 4.
"We had an awesome time giving one of our biggest hits a little Mariachi flavor with Hornitos Tequila. The mariachis we worked with were amazing- they thought of some really unique ways to put a new twist on "We're Not Gonna Take It" and we have a feeling this song will be on repeat all night on May 5th," said Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider. "The song came out even better than we could have imagined."
The 2nd Annual Mariachi Mash Up follows the success of last year's inaugural Mash Up featuring Cheap Trick, when Hornitos Tequila partnered with the power pop legends to remix their anthem "Surrender" in mariachi style.
The new version of "We're Not Gonna Take It" will be available for free download on Hornitos' Facebook page beginning May 4.
