Black Breath's Jamie Byrum Lists His Favorite Entombed Songs

Seattle death 'n' rollers Black Breath recently released Sentenced to Life, a definite pick in Noisecreep's 10 Heavy Metal Albums of the Year come this December. Where their debut platter, 2010's Heavy Breathing, had a Motörhead-ish vibe running throughout the material, the new album hones in on the more death metal aspects of Black Breath's sound.

Recorded at GodCity Studios with Kurt Ballou (Converge, High on Fire), Sentenced to Life is a relentless assault of crustified guitar riffs and gruff vocals. Since it was released in late March, the disc hasn't left Noisecreep's iTunes queue. Check out the band's video for "Home of the Grave" at the bottom of this post for proof on how much these dudes rip!

Utilizing the infamous Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal Pedal for their guitar tone, there's no denying Black Breath's sound owes a debt to Swedish death masters like Dismember, Carnage and the mighty Entombed. That's why Noisecreep asked Black Breath drummer Jamie Byrum to send us the list of songs he would include on the ultimate Entombed mixtape.
