Ex-Great White Singer Jack Russell Involved in Drunk Boat Crash
GW
The sailboat operator caused minimal damage to Russell's boat. The same could not be said for his own vehicle, unfortunately. Serves him right for operating machinery while under the influence; we're glad no one was hurt.
Russell reacted quickly, collecting insurance information before sending the culprit off on his merry, drunken way.
The singer didn't want to add insult to injury and involve the harbor patrol only to see the guy arrested. He was also glad that the shoe was not on the other foot and that he wasn't the one drunk and smashing into boats, to use a bunch of clichés.
Below is an excerpt from Russell's tour diary, detailing the incident.
One last thing, My wife Heather and I were sitting on the couch yesterday evening when we heard this huge "Boom." I went onto the back deck and this drunk guy in a sailboat had crashed into the back of our boat. Fortunately the damage to ours was minimal and he had insurance. I took his info and had him shove off before the Harbor Patrol showed up, no sense in him going to jail, after all his boat suffered some serious damage. I started to laugh and Heather asked me what was so funny. I told her "I'm just glad it wasn't the other way around." It's nice to be sober again. Until next time, remember, don't drink and sail.
