Slash, Scott Weiland: 'No Truth' to Singer's Claims He's Rejoining Velvet Revolver, Guitarist Says
Travis Shinn
As Blabbermouth.net reports, Slash told host Eddie Trunk there's "no way" the reunion is going to happen, despite Weiland's desire to split his time between Velvet Revolver and his other band, Stone Temple Pilots.
"I love Scott -- he's a great guy when I'm not in a band with him," Slash said. "I'd just like to keep it that way. So there's no truth to this whole thing. [It's been given] way more attention than it even deserves."
Slash's comments come days after Weiland told ABC Radio that he and the band -- which also features Slash's former Guns N' Roses bandmate Duff McKagan -- had plans to tour and record a new album.
"I was like, 'What the f---?'" Slash said, recalling how he heard about Weiland's reunion chatter while appearing on a Minneapolis morning show last Monday (May 14). "And that was it. And I called Duff, and I was like, 'Duff, do you know anything about this?' And Duff says, 'I have no idea.' So that was it. I was just in a state of shock."
