Steeve Hurdle Dead: Former Gorguts Guitarist Dies at 41 After Complications From Surgery

Former Gorguts and Negativa guitarist "Big" Steeve Hurdle has passed away at the age of 41.

The Canadian guitarist died on May 20 after complications from surgery, according to the Cooprative Funeraire de L'Estrie in Quebec and Metal Insider.

An official statement from his family has yet to be issued, and further details are unclear at this time.

Hurdle was a member of Gorguts in 1998. He appeared on the group's tech-metal masterpiece Obscura, which dropped that year.

He founded Negativa in 1994. The band also featured members of Ion Dissonance and trafficked in avant metal. They released a self-titled effort in 2006.
