Guns N' Roses Fans Not Allowed to Wear Slash Shirts at UK Shows

An 18-year-old fan named James Revell was spotted at GN'R's show at London's O2 Arena on May 31 wearing a jacket, sans shirt. He wasn't making any sort of fashion statement, either. Turns out the fan was asked to remove his shirt because people wearing Slash tees were not being permitted entry.
A source asked venue security if this policy was indeed being enforced, to which it responded: "We were told by the management not to allow anyone into the O2 Arena who is wearing a Slash T-shirt and we are asking anyone who is to remove it and if they refuse they will be turned away."
Revell spoke to NME over the weekend, providing details of his t-shirt discrimination. "I felt very angry because I was looking after my little brother at the time and felt as though my freedom to wear what I want had been taken away from me," he said. Freedom of speech, freedom of religion, the right to bear arms and the right to wear Slash shirts. Those are inalienable, God-given rights, no? Revell acted in accordance with the rules and "did not react angrily as I didn't want to spoil the show for him," he said, referring to his younger sibling. He's nothing if not a good brother.
Revell also has a theory as to why he was asked to de-shirt. "I believe they asked me to do this because Axl Rose has some problem with Slash and if he saw me wearing the shirt he might have stormed off stage," he mused.
That's a pretty adverse reaction to a shirt! But then again, Axl and Slash have a contentious relationship, so it makes sense. We'll say this. It's Axl's show and he'll deny entry to whomever he wants.
Revell found the whole experience, including the concert itself, to be disappointing, since the band was tardy taking the stage. He said, "I have never experienced anything as insulting as that at a concert before and I had to sit there in my little brothers jumper and wait for Axl to turn up well over an hour late, which we could only stay to watch three songs as we had to catch a train back. I think that Axl Rose doesn't appreciate his fans or anyone for that matter, he needs to grow up and stop acting like a child."
