Ted Nugent on Post-Sandy Hook Gun Control and Obama (EXCLUSIVE)

Ted Nugent

With gun control in the forefront of many American's minds since the Sandy Hook tragedy, we here at Noisecreep couldn't help but wonder what hard rock icon, and NRA board member Ted Nugent, had to say about this hot button issue.

A lifelong outdoorsman and hunter, Nugent is the recipient of numerous commendations from state police, sheriff departments, FBI and police agencies nationwide. Noisecreep reached out to Ted today to hear his side of the gun control controversy, and as always, the Motor City Madman didn't hold back.

As a board member of the NRA, what are some of your responsibilities?

My responsibilities as a board member of the National Rifle Association are to be a knowing, involved, conscientious, law-abiding participant in what we consider the sacred American experiment in self-government, to monitor our employees in elected office, to remain in touch with my community and the actions of the media and to remain ever vigilant that the government and media accurately and appropriately represent we the people and honor the U.S. Constitution -- particularly in respect to the God-given guaranteed individual right to keep and bear arms, and fight against any infringement thereof.

Do you support the ad that the NRA released earlier this week which called President Obama an "elitist hypocrite"?

Absolutely. Here's a man who pretends to honor 58,000 dead American military heroes who died fighting the evil of communism at the Vietnam Memorial Wall, then dares turn around and hires, appoints and associates with known communists. The fact that he wants to ban from U.S. citizens the very weapons, magazines and ammunition that his tax paid full-time security detail carries is the height of hypocrisy.

There are many Americans that feel that the country is being held hostage by the NRA and other lobbies. What's your response to that?

My response is one of dismay that anyone could possibly come to that absurd conclusion, when in fact the runaway abuse of power and corruption and criminal refusal to be accountable by the current U.S. government, facilitated and exacerbated by the dishonesty of the majority of the media, is the real threat to this unique experiment in self-government. The NRA is simply "We the People," undeniably the world's largest and most powerful family grass roots organization, dedicated to the Second Amendment and our self-evident natural right to self-defense.

How does instituting mandatory background checks and registration for all gun owners infringe on your second amendment rights?

One would have to live under a giant boulder of denial to pretend registration has not and will not lead to confiscation. Whoever asked this question must be dangerously ignorant of history.

NRA executive vice president Wayne LaPierre recently held a press conference, urging that we put an armed cop or security guard in every school in America. Where are we supposed to find the billions of dollars it supposedly would cost to fund that kind of initiative?

Any sane and caring person would agree that our children deserve at the very least the same protection as our money, elected officials, government buildings and the same armed security that the schools already have where the president's children attend. Another glaring example of hypocrisy. No president in the history of America has spent so irresponsibly and unaccountably as President Obama. He is showing his true Cloward-Piven colors by spending insanely then blaming others, as usual, for not paying for such waste, fraud and corruption. But a small percentage of the waste, fraud and corruption Obama is guilty of would more than pay for school security across the land. You know it and he knows it.

There is a new shooting-range app for the iPhone and iPad branded as an "Official NRA Licensed Product." It is approved for ages 4 and up. It was also released on the one month anniversary of the Sandy Hook shootings. Any comment on that?

I am not familiar with it, but the more than 100 million lawful gun enthusiasts of America know full well that the discipline of the shooting sports is a prime benefit for a young person's guidance, upbringing and overall education. If my friends at the NRA have produced such educational technology, I fully support it.

What's the biggest misconception people have about Ted Nugent?

I am not aware of any misconceptions about me, but surely the hate, vitriol and vicious lies about me in the media simply feed the soullessness of those who already don't want to know the truth about me. So be it. There have always been small-minded fools, and no one is surprised by the increasing class warfare metastasizing at the behest of the leftist media and the government goons who encourage and facilitate it. I am embraced and supported by the best people in the world who know and actually care about the truth. Drive safely.

Ted Nugent regularly hosts hunts for sick and terminally ill children with Hunt of a Lifetime, Hunt for a Cure, and via his own Kamp for Kids. Nugent has also founded the Freedom's Angels Foundation, which benefits American soldiers.

Ted apparently is very aware of what is going on in this country and the necessity for every citizen to be armed, not just for hunting, but to ensure we remain free. With every "incident" the government further practices "Let no crisis go to waste" in order to pass unpopular legislation--neither caring nor considering that the majority of well informed citizens do NOT agree with these laws---they do it anyway. This country will only remain free so long as American Citizen's remain armed. BTW, DHS and other federal departments have recently purchased over a BILLION rounds of 40 cal Hollow Point Ammo and other ammo-They state THEY ARE PREPARING for Civil Unrest/Civil War....indeed, who do you suppose they may intend to shoot? That is what the PEOPLE should be asking, and indeed why they would want us all UnArmed! The day American's lay down their weapons is the last day this country will ever know freedom.

Ted understands what's going on. I wish the citizens of our nation knew more about history so they understood that the second amendment was not added only for hunting and shooting enjoyment, but to protect our freedom against our own government and any other country that would try to take it away. Keep up the fight Ted!

Hey Ted, don't throw the baby out with the bath water. I am a staunch Democrat who also believes that it is our constitutional right to bear arms. The change must come within the party. We still need at least two parties to keep this country a democracy.

So Ted gets the infamous question on where's the money for armed security for the schools. FUNNY, seems government has money or even the schools to hand out condoms and the morning after pill!

The NRA doesn't care about 2nd amendment rights, it's about the money and the fear they are speading. The Nazi's did the same thing. Nugent is a clown for them.

Actually, you're wrong. The German government first took all the firearms away from the people, then the Nazi's took over and killed and imprisoned them. That is a pretty common thing for governments to do through history. It's always done for the "good" of the people. After the people no longer have a way to defend themselves or to resist the government, the government can no longer be held in check and it is long forgotten why the people were disarmed.... they just are. The new government just knows that the people can't resist so they can now do things to the people that they would otherwise have hesitated to do. If you think about it, the number of American gun owners is larger than any army in the world. That has to be quiet a daunting thought to our government .... and any government, anywhere in the world who might have thoughts about the strength of the American determination to remain the leader to a better way of life for people throughout the world. It is our freedom to do what we want to do in this country, that so many people in the world look up to, desire and seek to come here for. And the right to bear arms is part of that freedom.

Teddy Roosevelts "Walk softly and carry a big stick" still works.
