Slash, who has been visiting the Los Angeles Zoo since he was 5, is a trustee of the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association (GLAZA) and a big supporter all that they do in terms of conservation and education. Last summer, the guitarist received the inaugural Tom F. Mankiewicz Leadership Award from GLAZA recognizing his longtime support of the LA Zoo and the welfare of the world’s natural and civic environment.
